Welcome to another episode of the Me Skills Podcast, where we lean into self-love and great ideas that build a better life.
We’ve all been there—feeling used or manipulated by someone we thought was genuinely reaching out, only to find out they had an ulterior motive…
And that’s what we’re tackling in today’s episode – that gut-wrenching moment when you realize someone’s friendly approach had strings attached. (In this case we’re referring to MLM pitches).
But it’s not all gloomy! We’ll also touch on positive ways to keep in touch with your network, spread joy, and share opportunities… without coming off as sleazy.
(Note: this episode, as usual, contains swearing. 😉)
Note Worthy Timestamps:

Key Takeaways:
Here are some key points you’ll take away from this episode:
- Personal stories from both Kelly & Tish about being used by someone only because they wanted to pitch an MLM to them.
- Just be upfront about your pitch!
- Be a Joy Germ!
My doctor and his wife asked to meet my husband (now ex) and me and then discussed Amway. We were shocked – and said no.
That a doctor took advantage of a trusted relationship is extra ICK 🙁
Oh Fran… that is so icky! Ditto what Kelly said. And thanks for taking the time to listen and comment – I appreciate you 🙂
i never liked the salesy part of MLM, if people were interested in being part of a team I was selling, I referred them up to my lead, sorry i didnt want to deal with other people.
